Week of January 22-26, 2018

Dear Cranston Families,

Welcome to another week of learning in room 75.  This week is outlined below.  Just a note for parents, you can still sign up for a Parent-Teacher Interview using your CBE account.  When I last checked, there were only a few slots available on Thursday evening and some on Friday.

1.  Fun Lunch - Wednesday January 24th.  Please remember to pack a morning and afternoon snack for your child.

2.  Book Exchange - Wednesday January 24th. Please help your child locate his/her book and put it in his/her back pack.

3.  Parent-Teacher Interviews - Thursday January 25th (4:00 - 7:00 p.m.) and Friday January 26th (8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., noon).  Interviews are 15 minutes in length.  If you think you might need more time, please contact either me or Mrs. Vandertoorn and we can book a double slot.  There is no school for students on the 26th.

4.  Dressing for the weather - Please remember to send all your child's winter gear to school as we do go outside in colder temperatures.  In sloppy weather like we are forecasted this week, sending extra socks to school is a good idea.

5.  Homework - Just a friendly reminder that students should be reading every night for about 15 minutes and practicing their math basic facts (adding and subtracting to and from 18) is always a good idea.  Typically, homework is not sent home in grade three. Mathletics and RazKids can help with both activities.  Passwords for both websites were sent home in November.

6.  Winter Olympics - Cranston Style - Mrs. Sedgewick and Ms. MacMillan are planning an outdoor sports day on February 12th, 2018.  Watch for more information as we get closer to the date.

7.  One Hundred Days of School - The 100th day of school is fast approaching.  Students in room 75 will be celebrating on February 13th by participating in a variety of activities.

8.  Teachers' Convention - February 15th and 16th - There will be no school for students on either day.  Teachers will be downtown at various venues learning new tricks of our trade.

Have a wonderful day!

Ms. Patton
