Conference Updates

Thank you to all the families that were able to come in for Parent Teacher Interviews!  During our conversations some common questions came up and Ms. Patton and I thought we would (re)share some of the answers that arose from those questions, for all of our families.

First off, all of your children have a username and password for Mathletics (math practice) and Raz-Kids (leveled reading).  The teacher user name for Raz-Kids is cpattonk.  Both of these programs also have apps available for tablets/ipads.  If you have misplaced your child's login cards - that were sent home in October - please let use know and we can re-send that information!

Educational games can also be found at www.abcya.com.  No login is required to play the games on this site.  Kids are encourage to check out www.go.scholastic.com for research on Giant Pandas and Red Pandas, our inquiry study this year.

Additionally, we will be sharing suggested authors and books for young readers in this space over the coming months.  First up is a couple fiction titles with a science focus, to hopefully inspire those avid non-fiction readers out there.

Ivy and Bean What’s the Big Idea? by Annie Barrows, illustrated by Sophie Blackall. This is book 7 of the very popular series, all of which are great for readers just graduating to chapter books.

Project Droid (series) by Nancy Krulik and Amanda Burwasser, illustrated by Mike Moran. Lots of humor make this a fun science themed early chapter book series for kids.

Have a great weekend!

Mrs. V
