Week of October 30th to November 3
Dear Cranston Families;
I hope everyone is ready for a busy week at school. Here's a list of important events for you to keep in mind as you plan the week ahead.
1. Monday October 30th - Photo Retake Day and Scholastic Book Orders are due to Ms. Patton!
2. Tuesday October 31st - Hallowe'en...students have permission to wear their costumes all day! We will be surveying the students about what they would like to do for part of the afternoon. Choices could be: free time, a short movie, or bring board game from home. Ms. Patton will provide chips and juice for each student...no need to send anything else for a special snack this day!
Please be sure that the children can move easily in their costumes as they will still be participating in gym in the morning and playing outside at lunch recess and for the afternoon body break. We are asking that NO weapons be sent in with costumes... remember Cranston School's motto is "Building Peaceful Communities Together".
3. Wednesday November 1st - The Scholastic Book Fair begins on this day! Students will be given a 15 minute preview time and then may purchase books on Thursday during the school day or during Parent Teacher Conferences.
4. Thursday November 2nd and Friday November 3rd - Parent Teacher Conferences. Thursday's schedule goes as follows - a regular school day for students followed by Conferences from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday's schedule is Conferences from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon) and there is NO school for students. You are welcome to bring your child along for his/her Conference. It is important that all children know that Parents and Teachers are working together to provide them the best education possible. Please note that Mrs. Vandertoorn and Ms. Patton are willing to meet with you at different times if you are unable to make the Conferences scheduled these two days. All you have to do is email us to arrange another suitable date and time.
Important dates to keep on your radar:
Friday November 10th - Students in rooms 74 and 75 (that's us) are organizing and performing in the Remembrance Day Assembly. Please watch for more information about this important event in the School's weekly update and this Blog!
Friday November 17th - Professional Development Day for Teachers and NO school for students.
RazKids and Mathletics usernames and passwords are being sent home whenever the children remember to bring in their Communication Folders. You will need the teacher's username to login to RazKids the first time on any device. Here it is: cpattonk
