Learning Snapshot - Remembrance Day and Peaceful Communities
With Remembrance Day approaching (November 11th), we have been focusing some of our learning on understanding the meaning behind this day. In art, the children have been creating beautiful poppies using mixed media. We have begun looking at the poem, In Flanders Fields, by Lt. Col. John McCrae, and through our discussion on Peace, the students have written Haikus about what peace means to them. Some of their art and their poems will be on display during conferences. Please have a look at the bulletin boards outside our classroom!
