Last week!

Hi All,

I hope everyone is outside and enjoying this lovely weather!  I will be once posting this week's blog is crossed off my "To Do" list!

It is a very short week for students but crazy busy nevertheless!

Monday June 25th - Sports Day - Students will be participating in the annual Summer Sports Day beginning at 12:15 p.m.  We kick off the afternoon with a brief assembly and then we head for the great outdoors for fun in the sun!  All activities will be outside either on the compound or in the field.  Please make sure that your child has a hat, sunglasses, sun screen and bug spray!  All children should wear outdoor running shoes so they can kick, run and jump without hurting their toes!

Thanks to the leadership students from Dr. George Stanley for organizing and helping to man the stations!  Also, many thanks to Parent Council for the freezies!

Tuesday June 26th - Classroom take down and sending stuff home.  Students will need 2 re-useable grocery bags so that they can bring all their school stuff home!  There is a lot of it!  There will be art projects, school work, notebooks and science projects to take home!  It is also our last Club Day!

Wednesday June 27th - Final Assembly - there is a final assembly on Wednesday morning that our class is participating in.  I will send an email with the time once the Weekly Update for teachers is posted.   Report cards and the last of the students' belongings will be going home at the end of the day.  Wednesday is a Full Day of school with dismissal at the normal time of 2:30 p.m.

Thanks to School Council for providing and making the popcorn for grade 3 students to enjoy while we watched the movie "Wonder" on Thursday afternoon.  Thanks to all those parents who rode to the Splash Park with Champions' Club on Wednesday morning.  And...many thanks to those parents who provided a favourite dessert on Friday morning.  The International Taste Test was a hit with students and teachers alike!

Please return all home reading and library books that you may find hiding at home!

Most teachers will be moving classroom on Thursday and Friday as we wrap our school year and get ready for the next.

Many thanks to our wonderful parent volunteers for your many hours of volunteering with our in school programs and on our field trips.  We couldn't do our jobs without your support and encouragement.

Have a wonderful summer and travel/play safely!

With gratitude!

Ms. Patton and Mrs. Vandertoorn
