May 28-June 1, 2018

Hi All,

I hope you have all had the chance to enjoy the lovely weather this weekend.  Here are some important items on the radar for the next week or two.

1.  Book Exchange - Wednesday May 30th.  Please help everyone return their library books on Wednesday.  Our class has several overdue books.

2.  Science Centres - Students will be working their way through our Hearing and Sound Science Centres this week.  Please watch for the Home Project information to come home this week.

3.  Social Studies Project:  As you are all aware, our class has joined forces with the grade three students from Ms. Brett's class and Ms. Jackson's class to raise $3000.00 to have a water well built somewhere in Africa.  Here is the link for the Fundraising website:   https://my.charitywater.org/cranston-kids/operation-cranston-clean-water.  Please feel free to share this link on social media!  You may need to copy and paste the link into your web browser.

There is a list of activities the children have planned in Last Week's blog.  Please contact Ms. Patton or Mrs. Vandertoorn if you are able to volunteer to help out with any of these activities.  June 8th is the big day for many of these activities.

4.  Lunch time:  While the weather is nice, students will be eating lunch outside, picnic style.

5.  Gym:  There will be days when our gym class will be held outside in the soccer field.  The mosquitoes are really bad!  Please send bug spray and a hat with your child.

6.  Artist of the Week:  The Tragically Hip...the iconic Canadian group and their contributions to the world music scene will be studied this week.

Have a great week everyone!

Ms Patton and Mrs. Vandertoorn.
