Swimming Week April 9-13, 2018

Hello All,

This is our week to go swimming.  We will be leaving the school at 9:15 Monday through Thursday mornings this week.  Our lessons are from 10:00 - 10:45 at Bob Bahan Aquatic and Fitness Centre.  We will be back at the school by 11:30 a.m. each day.  Parent volunteers are asked to meet us at the pool.  Help is always appreciated and if you are volunteering any one of our days, please be sure to let one of us know via email that you are coming for that day.  We need to have you fill in a Volunteer Acknowledgement of Risk form for the days you are at the pool to help.  Unfortunately, there will be no room on the bus for parents to ride to the pool with us as we are taking three classes of students with us each day.

Students need to wear his/her bathing suit under their clothes to school each day.  Towels, underwear should be in a plastic bag that can go to and from the pool easily.  Please make sure that your child's belongings are labeled with his/her name.  There will not be time for students to wash their hair or blow it dry.  Students with long hair are asked to have it pulled back into a pony tail and students should not wear any jewelry to the pool this week.  Students will be eating a quick snack before we leave for swimming each morning.  Please send an extra snack for the afternoon.  Students are often quite hungry later in the afternoon after swim lessons.

Other upcoming events are:

1.  Wednesday April 11, 2018 - Fun Lunch (A&W) and book exchange in the Learning Commons
2.  Student Led Conference booking begins this week.  Please see the Parent Weekly Update for further information.
3.  Scholastic Book Fair is coming to the school on April 18th - 20th.
4.  Field Trip to the National Music Centre Tuesday May 1st and the Calgary Zoo on Wednesday May 16th.  We are looking for volunteers for both days.  We need four parent volunteers for each field trip.  Please email Ms. Patton or Mrs. Vandertoorn if you are available to help one or both days.

Have a wonderful Sunday afternoon,

Sincerely,

Ms. Patton and Mrs. Vandertoorn
